Two ways, and the distinction matters.
The first is commission. Hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators pay consultants a modest percentage on confirmed bookings. This is what allows our Direct Booking service to remain complimentary: when you already know where you want to stay, the property pays us, and there's no fee to you.
The second is professional fees, paid by the client for the work that happens before a booking. A single Hotel Curation proposal can easily represent several hours of work — researching properties that genuinely fit a client's aesthetic, vetting them against the realities of the destination, preemptive communication with hotel management, securing the right rates and amenities, and presenting the options in a way that makes the decision clear. The fee compensates that time, and it compensates the experience behind it: over a decade in luxury travel and hospitality, with the relationships, judgment, and pattern recognition that only come from doing this work for years.
Our fees are published openly on the services page, agreed upon at the start of every engagement, and any curation fees paid along the way apply in full toward a bespoke itinerary. No surprises, ever.

Absolutely. Our Direct Booking service is complimentary and allows you to access VIP perks and property credits you wouldn't receive booking on your own. Simply send us your preferred property, and we will handle the rest.
And if you’ve already booked the hotel on your own? No problem! Just email hello@byvignette.com and we’ll see if we can do a takeover booking, making us the agent of record so you can still get all those VIP perks.

Each trip is highly customized to you and our fees reflect the level of design and care required for each unique journey.
Hotel Curation begins at $250, while Bespoke Itineraries start at $500 for a 5-day journey. For Group & Celebration Management, we provide custom retainers based on the complexity of the production, while Direct Bookings are always complimentary.

Vignette is compensated via industry-standard commissions paid directly by the properties. This allows us to offer our advocacy at no additional cost to you. You receive the same (or better!) rates—often with exclusive VIP amenities—while the property handles the professional fee for the placement.

Absolutely! In most cases, you’ll continue to earn points and enjoy your existing elite status benefits. By booking through Vignette’s preferred partner programs—such as Marriott STARS or Four Seasons Preferred—we are often able to “stack” your loyalty perks with our own exclusive amenities, including room upgrades, resort credits, and complimentary breakfast.

At this time, Vignette specializes in ground-based curation and property management. While we do not book or reschedule commercial airfare, we provide full logistical support for the fallback of travel disruptions—including private transfers, airport-adjacent accommodations, and itinerary adjustments to keep your journey on track.

Professional fees (curation and design fees) are non-refundable, as they represent the creative work and research performed during the Discovery and Curation phases. For the travel components themselves (hotels, tours, transfers), we strictly adhere to the specific cancellation policies of our individual partners, which are clearly outlined in your final itinerary.
